Dr. Wei Li is currently a UTHSC Distinguished Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), and the Director of UTHSC College of Pharmacy Drug Discovery Center. He is also the Founder and CSO of SEAK Therapeutics LLC, a UTHSC spin-off startup company focusing on developing small molecule therapeutic agents originally invented in his lab. Dr. Li obtained his BS degree in chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1992. After a two-year graduate study at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, he went to Columbia University and obtained his PhD degree in chemistry in 1999. He has been working at UTHSC College of Pharmacy since 1999. His research focus is medicinal chemistry and small molecule drug discovery. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers, 5 book chapters, and is an inventor of more than ten issued US patents and a larger number of related patents in other countries. Dr. Li has been actively serving as a grant reviewer for several US government, state, and foreign funding agencies. He is also a frequent reviewer for journal articles and is serving as an editorial board member for several journals. Arieh Zaritsky is a Professor Emeritus at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). His laboratory investigates pure and applied fields. During his career, he has instructed over 50 graduate students / scientists and was awarded numerous research grants. He visited higher education Institutions around the world and delivered invited lectures at international meetings. After obtaining a distinguished MSc in Genetics at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1967, Israel), he graduated (PhD) at Leicester University (1971, UK) and post-doc'ed at Copenhagen's Institute of Microbiology (1972, Denmark). Professor Zaritsky is a recognized expert on bacterial and bacteriophage physiology, on which he published about half of his ~140 peer-reviewed articles [ http://ariehz.weebly.com/articles.html ]. He was awarded (1994) Burroughs-Wellcome/ASM Visiting Professorship. Zaritsky's 2nd expertise involves biological control of insect pests using specific toxins produced by various subspecies of Bacillus thuringiensis. Bing-Huei Chen, male, food scientist, received his Ph.D. degree in Food Science & Technology, Texas A & M University, USA in 1988. His postgraduate career includes working at Fu Jen University, Taipei, Taiwan as Associate Professor from 1988–1994, Professor from 1994–2004, Distinguished Chair Professor from 2003–present, Chair of Department of Nutrition and Food Science from 1994-2000, Director of Graduate Institute of Medicine from 2006–2009, and Dean of College of Human Ecology from 2012–2015. He specializes in Lipid Chemistry, Pigment Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, Food Toxicology, Functional Food and Botanical Drug Development and Biological Activity Determination as well as Nanotechnology. Until now he has published 199 research articles in internationally renowned journals and authored 11 book chapters in edited books published by International Publishers. He has received numerous awards including the prestigious National Invention Gold Medal Award by Ministry of Economics, Taiwan in 2018 and was honored with Outstanding Research Scientist by Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan. He was also honored with International Outstanding Inventor of Biotechnology by Taiwan Inventor Association/International Innovation and Invention Alliance Association in 2019 and Distinguished Professor by Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China in 2015. Most importantly, Prof. Chen has developed a nano-product “Lycopene Chylomicron”, which has completed a phase III clinical trial in both Taiwan and USA in 2017 and demonstrated to be effective in the treatment of patients with prostatauxe syndrome. Expectedly, this product will become the first botanic drug in the world for treatment of patients with prostatauxe syndrome without side effect. More recently, the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), a European organization has honored him with IAAM Scientist Award 2020 for his contribution to the advancement of science and technology. At the same year he was also honored with Vebleo Fellow. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Recent Patents on Food, Nutrition and Agriculture” and Associate Editor of 2 journals “Journal of Food & Drug Analysis” and “Asian Science Bulletin”. In addition, he serves on the editorial board of 135 journals. Currently he is the President of Professors Association, Taiwan and was the Past President of AOAC Taiwan section from 2016-2018.

Pham Xuan Phu took his PhD in rural development at the Can Tho University, Vietnam (from 2013-2019). He did his Master of rural development in specialization in livelihood and natural resources management in the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) under a SIDA Scholarship in areas of Rural Development from 2005-2008. He is currently senior lecturer and researcher of Rural Development and Natural Resources Management Department, Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, An Giang University, a member of Ho Chi Minh City National University, Viet Nam. He has more than nineteen years’ experience in teaching in researching. He has published several papers in international journal and local newspapers. His research is interesting about indigenous knowledge, vulnerable livelihoods,farming systems, migration, agro-ecosytems, social learning on indigenous knowledge farmers adaptive capacity, social resilience to flooding, adatation to climate change.
